Report

After last week's dismal performance against a struggling Llandysul side, Bargod traveled up to Felin fach. Felin Fach, who have made a flying start to the season, were looking to keep their unbeaten start to the season intact as well as Bargod were traveling to the league leaders with 4 out of 4 wins. The Puw lads went to the tough away fixture without a couple of key players in Paul Farrelly and Duncan Lewes, but Rangers were hopeful of the 3pts, which some would call it a 6pointer, with experienced players Harri Stephens and Luke Fielding returning to the team. Again Bargod were without their 1st and 2nd choice keeper for the 2nd week, but with experienced veteran Joe Turner offering his services in the sticks, they looked to have a strong side for this crunch game.

Bargod got the game underway and dominated pretty much through out the 1st half, with some sublime passing throughout the park, Stephens and Poskitt dominated possession in the centre while James and Philips were quick down the wings. It looked like a totally different side from when the Parc Puw lads played Llandysul the week before. Bargod took the lead in the 25th when phillips was brought down on the left wing, the resulting free kick, which was taken byRogers, was superbly volleyed in by Stephens. Bargod continued to press for the 2nd, and it came to Rogers who broke free, but was very unlucky to see his shot rebound off the post when he slipped on the tricky surface. Bargod were looking on top form, with the defense dealing with everything that was thrown at them and the attackers grafting hard up field, but they seemed to be in trouble when James looked like he had injured himself, James sacrificed himself in a 50/50 challenge and came out worse for wear with horrific stud marks going all the way up his legs, but 5mins later the winger bravely went back to the field to show some grit and determination. 5mins before the half finished and Stephens stepped up again, another set peace from a Phillips corner Stephens headed the ball into the net to take the away lads into the second half with a deservedly 2-0 lead against their rivals.

Second half got underway and Bargod carried on where they left off, plenty of chances came for Walters and Rogers only for the keeper to deny the two strikers. The game finished with Bargod winning 2-0 and it could have been more. A dominating performance from Rangers and every one that played had an outstanding performance, man of the match went to Poskitt who didn’t put a foot wrong all afternoon. Onwards and upwards. 5 wins out of 5 Rangers look like a dominate force to be reckoned with this season.
