The Bargod Rangers Football Club was founded in 1897, and was one of the founder members of the Cardiganshire League in 1921. Since that time, a number of teams have come and gone, but the Rangers still continue.
Although the Club has achieved a number of successes, none can be as notable as the Triple Trophy victories in 1957-58. This was the first time that this feat was accomplished since the leagues inauguration. A few seasons later the same feat was repeated.
The Club has for a number of years been pursuing the idea of erecting changing rooms at Parc Puw, but due to the lack of finance the project was not feasible. As time passed, the Club’s financial position improved, and in October 1973 a grant aid application was submitted to the Sports Council For Wales. To the committees joy, the Sports Council agreed to contribute 50% of the cost, and a further 25% was paid by the Dyfed Education Committee. Contributions were also received from other organisations, past players and friends, to whom the Club extends its gratitude.
This building which is being opened today could not have been built without the tremendous effort of a number of local craftsmen and willing helpers who have sacrificed hours towards the project
These persons, who are too numerous to mention, deserve special thanks.
Although the Football Club will be the main user of these facilities, it will be available for use by the whole village, and should prove an asset to the community.
